Biography

Jeffrey Newman is an archaeologist and digital imaging specialist. He received his PhD in Egyptology from the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures at UCLA in 2025. His research focuses on early Egyptian history, including ritual, kingship, and state formation.

Before his time at UCLA, Jeffrey also worked as a photographer at the ISAC Museum at the University of Chicago. He has excavated extensively in Egypt, most recently with the Yale Tell Edfu Project.

He joins the Pourdavoud as a Research Associate, working on projects related to 3D imaging, cultural heritage preservation, and instructional design.
