The Sasanian Workshops are a series of planned future conferences to be organized by the Pourdavoud Institute and its partners on the state of Sasanian Studies.
Altogether some six conferences are initially envisaged, the thematic composition of which, as well as the intervals between them are presently being considered. The conferences on Sasanian Iran shall permit to resituate the Sasanian empire within the larger tapestry of late antique studies, as well as capture its indebtedness to lasting Iranian traditions.
The themes of the Sasanian Workshops shall pertain to new approaches to periodization, methodological departures, and source criticism.
