It is with great sadness that the Pourdavoud Center shares the passing of Professor Ehsan Yarshater, the Hagop Kevorkian Professor Emeritus of Iranian Studies at Columbia University. The faculty, staff, and affiliates of the Pourdavoud Center extend their deepest sympathy to Professor Yarsharter’s family, friends, colleagues, and students, who are all deeply affected by this loss. The memory of Professor Yarshater will endure through his numerous scholarly contributions to the field of Iranian Studies and the newly endowed Ehsan Yarshater Center for Iranian Studies at Columbia University.
The Pourdavoud Center for the Study of the Iranian World honors the memory and lasting legacy of Professor Ehsan Yarshater by hosting the Ehsan Yarshater Bienniel Lecture Series.
