Sasanian Epigraphic Collection

Published: October 12, 2016

The Sasanian Epigraphic Collection consists of silicone imprints of Sasanian royal and private inscriptions dating back to the third and fourth century CE. The silicone holding is supplemented by digital photographs made from the inscriptions on the site. The Collection is presently being used towards the preparation of a new comprehensive critical edition of the Sasanian epigraphic corpus. More importantly, they will provide a unique tool for our qualified undergraduate and graduate students to deepen their philological training by gaining first hand knowledge of Middle Iranian paleography.
